‘Jesus said, ‘It is better to give, than to receive’ (Acts 20:35).
We believe this at St Matthew’s, and one of the ways we encourage people to put his words into action is to give financially to the work that we do here.
It is often thought that Churches in the Church of England are paid for by the Government. In fact, we get no financial help from the State (aside from some tax relief). All our income comes either from letting our building or from the congregation who give to the work.
Below you will find details of how to give financially. We hope this is a helpful start. If you want to discuss anything to do with our finances please use the Contact Us form and we will do our best to be in touch with a good answer as soon as we can.
And finally, if you do give to us, please be assured of our deep gratitude.
How to give
You can give to St. Matthew’s in the following ways:

Tax effective giving
If you are a UK taxpayer, St. Matthew’s is able to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. To do this, you need to fill in a ‘Gift Aid Declaration’ form, and send it to St. Matthew’s (27 St. Petersburg Place, London, W2 4LA). If you intend to give to St. Matthew’s regularly please use the ongoing donations form, and if not, use the one off donation form.
You can also Gift Aid any donations given in person at church by using the yellow Gift Aid envelopes.
